Dr. Rachel McKay is a Litchfield, Illinois native who began her academic journey at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, earning her degree in Biological Sciences before completing her Doctor of Optometry at the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2021 where she graduated summa cum laude. During her five years of practice in Springfield, she developed a reputation for approachable, attentive care and a commitment to helping patients feel confident in their eye health.

Dr. McKay is excited to continue her career in Effingham and to be near her husband, Blake, family and farm in Beecher City as they grow their own family. With deep ties to central Illinois, she looks forward to building strong patient relationships and delivering personalized, comprehensive eye care to individuals and families across the area.

Outside of the office, Dr. McKay enjoys walking her dog, Baxter, fitting in a workout, and unwinding with a good book or movie.
